Our Story

La Rosa began when its owner, Aristides Rivas, a cellist and teacher, started offering advice on musical instruments to his students and colleagues. Alongside guidance, he began performing repairs and bow rehairing, addressing the needs of musicians around him. Recognizing the demand, Aristides expanded his services by providing quality instruments at affordable prices to both students and professionals. Over time, this humble initiative grew into a trusted business, combining instrument sales with expert repair services, making La Rosa a valued resource in the music community.

The name La Rosa is a heartfelt tribute to Aristides’ mother, Rosalia, affectionately known as Rosa. In Spanish, "Rosa" means rose, symbolizing beauty and strength. Recognizing the profound impact Rosa has had on his life, Aristides chose to honor her by naming his business after her, ensuring her legacy and influence remain an integral part of the company’s identity.
